Hatching Eggs
We are experienced fertile egg producers and suppliers, successfully supplying schools, educational facilities, homes and businesses across the entire UK. We’ve been sending eggs by post since Feb 2020 very successfully.
Our customers have great hatch rates, returning to us year after year.
Help with your incubation journey… Just as buying butter, sugar, eggs & flour do not guarantee you perfect cakes, fertile eggs do not guarantee you a perfect hatch. To level your expectations, a ‘good’ hatch rate from posted eggs is internationally recognised as 45-50%, although the majority of our customers (using reliable equipment and a useful level of understanding of both their equipment and process) exceed this significantly.
- You can find great help with the FREE Brinsea Incubation Handbook (no matter what incubator you use), giving advice on incubation basics, humidity and temp settings, candling, embryo development, trouble shooting and more! It really IS very good! Click on the incubation handbook below….
- You are also invited to join our Facebook Group ‘Home Farm Customer Hatching Stories’ where you can ask any questions you may have, as we and other group members are keen to help.

- Packaging – we are proud to say that we do not use any polystyrene or plastic packaging in any form. All our packaging is home compostable.
- Collection – you may collect your eggs from us. They can be collected from our farm 24/7/365. There is no requirement for contact. We will email you specific details when they are ready for collection.
We apologise that we can’t provide 1-2-1 support through our various online outlets or the many messaging systems that are out there. The best way to find support is the above 2 suggestions.
Even if you plan to collect your eggs from us, you need to pre-order through our website. PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP ON SPEC for fertile eggs as they will NOT be ready. Once your order is placed, you will receive an email when your order is ready with collection instructions. We appreciate your respect for our daily farm time commitments and constraints.Â
Additional Information
*fertility – although we cannot guarantee fertility we have an extremely high tested fertility rates. It is impossible to tell whether an egg is fertile until it’s been correctly incubated for about 7 days.Â
**Please note – Postage is very hard on hatching eggs. We and the postal service can’t guarantee how carefully the boxes are handled and no matter how well we pack them, sometimes you end up with cracked eggs, detached air-sacs, or otherwise “scrambled” eggs on delivery. The latter are unlikely to develop.Â
We can’t be held responsible for damaged eggs or postal delays. Regarding any postal delays – fertility holds reasonably well up to 7 days, but declines rapidly afterwards.  After 3 weeks of storage, fertility drops to almost zero.
When we pack and send – see website delivery information. We do not delay posting out orders unless specifically requested to do so by the buyer, or we may delay over long bank holidays if we judge egg viability to be otherwise compromised.
PLEASE NOTE – WE GIVE OURSELVES 1-2 WORKING DAYS TO DISPATCH. VERY OCCASIONALLY OUR BIRDS MAY HAVE NOT LAID ENOUGH THAT DAY (FOR WHATEVER REASON) OR THERE HAVE BEEN BREAKAGES.  IN THIS SCENARIO, YOUR ORDER IS PLACED TOP OF THE LIST FOR THE NEXT DAY.
